Geary County and surrounding counties were the target of tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings Monday evening. Authorities never reported any tornadoes on the ground but radar noted some rotation. Geary County Emergency Management confirmed funnel cloud rotation was spotted one mile north of Chapman and also moving across Milford Lake. Warning sirens sounded in the Milford Township and the City of Milford.
According to the National Weather Service there was a report of softball size hail near Upland. There was a 69 mile per hour wind gust at the Manhattan Regional Airport. No injuries have been reported.
There were some tree limbs down in Junction City.
A check for damage will also be done on Tuesday.
