USD 475's Dr. Eggleston Named Superintendent of the Year Finalist

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – Geary County Schools USD 475 is proud to announce that Dr. Reginald Eggleston, USD 475 Superintendent, has been named one of three state-wide finalists for the 2026 Kansas Superintendent of the Year Award by the Kansas School Superintendents' Association.

Joining Eggleston as a finalist is Dr. Jessica Dain of Piper USD 202 and Mr. Jamie Rumford of Scott County USD 466. The 2026 Kansas Superintendent of the Year will be announced on Monday, October 6. Eggleston, Dain and Rumford will be recognized at the 2026 Superintendent of the Year Gala on Thursday, Nov. 13 in Wichita.

Dr. Eggleston has served as the Superintendent of Schools in Geary County Schools USD 475 every year since 2019. During his tenure, Dr. Eggleston has overseen transformative initiatives that address the academic, social and emotional needs of all USD 475 students.

Under his leadership, USD 475 has received several distinctions and accolades, including Lincoln Elementary being named a National Blue Ribbon School last September, which demonstrates his commitment to educational excellence. His strategic vision includes robust financial planning and community partnerships, ensuring sustainable success and equity for over 7,000 students and 1,300 employees.

Dr. Eggleston is a Colonel in the Army Reserves with over 30 plus years of military experience. Eggleston and his wife, Regina, reside in Fort Riley, Kansas.
