The facility currently operates as a day shelter.
The commisssion will take up the issue during budget deliberations. They have indicated support for the operation.

Commissioners have awarded a bid totaling $483,830 to J&K Contracting for utility improvements on McFarland Road. The work needs to be done before a roundabout project can be done.

Commissioners voted to express their support for the employment of five new city employees. They include an assistant city attorney, a grant writer, city planner, project manager and a public information officer. A public information officer is expected to be hired in the near future. The necessary funding is in the budget.
City manager Kim Zimmerman said that the five positions are key to the City moving forward.
