Thomas Wesoloski spent 20 years working for Geary USD 475 as a secondary teacher, building principal and district administrator. Now he wants to serve on the Board of Education. "I believe I can bring a fresh set of eyes to the operation of the District to ensure that we continue to be one of the best school districts in Kansas."
Wesoloski believes students are the first priority. "I also believe that students must be taken care of, and discipline must be a priority."
He supports building relationships as a key to their success and teachers and staff need to become aware of and get to know every student well.
Wesoloski noted that many students come to school without having had food the night before or enough sleep. He believes teachers and staff need to learn when the child is off.
Other candidates for the school board include Zeek Torres, Kristian James, Dr. Beth Hudson and Mark Hatcher. The election is Nov. 4.
