BOE talks about the District Strategic Plan

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – Geary County Schools USD 475 Board of Education held a lengthy discussion this past week on the district’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan. The plan outlines the district’s main goals, as follows, and the steps they will take to pursue them:

1. Academic Goal: USD 475 will equitably address the academic learning amongst students in all demographic categories to improve the graduation rate from 84.7% to 95% by 2025.

2. Social and Emotional Goal: USD 475 will equitably address the social and emotional needs of students.

3. Parent Engagement Goal: USD 475 will create opportunities to enhance family and community engagement in an equitable manner that allows for participation for all.

4. Retention and Hiring Goal: USD 475 will develop a plan to Recruit, Retain, and Support High-Quality Staff that reflects our community.

The board made the decision to delay approval of the plan until a later date.
