Cross Country boy's teams wins 6A Regional, several athletes qualify for state

The Junction City High School boys’ cross-country team claimed the Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 6A Regional Championship on Saturday.

Individually, Ethan Fontaine crossed the finish line in first place at 15:51.08 to win the regional at Hummer Park in Topeka. Anthony Testa also had a solid outing, wrapping up the competition in seventh place.

On the girl’s side, Linden Pickler claimed runner-up honors with a time of 18:15.51, while Anna Fontaine closed the competition in fourth place. Brittney Dibben also had a banner day in Topeka, finishing 15th overall. The trio will represent the Blue Jays at the Class 6A State Cross Country Championships in Lawrence on Saturday, Nov. 2.
