RILEY COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Friday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Kawasaki Z900 driven by Joel T. Scheuerman, 19, Lenexa, was southbound on U.S. 24 at Kimball Avenue.
The motorcycle came over a hill and struck the bed of a 2011 Ford F150 driven by Thomas D. Shortle, 40, Marysville, that stopped in the median facing east yielding to northbound traffic and the bed of the truck was still in the southbound lanes.
EMS transported Scheuerman and a passenger Madeline N. Bona, 18, Lenexa, to Stormont Vail. Shortle was not injured. Scheuerman and Bona were wearing helmets, according to the KHP.
