Property owners have the right and opportunity to appeal the valuation they receive. The process has a few steps, but it simply starts with an informal meeting with the Appraiser's Office. At the meeting, the county provides information detailing the characteristics of the property, market trends and subsequent valuation.
An appeal must be filed within 30 days of the postmark on the notice. You can schedule a meeting with the Appraiser's Office by calling 785-238-4407 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
