JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — The Junction City Blue Jay baseball team dropped both games of their double-header to the Topeka Trojans on Tuesday night.
In game one, Topeka used a three-run 9th inning to win 4-1 in extra innings. Jordan Kell pitched seven innings, allowing just one run in the effort.
In game two, Topeka grabbed a 5-0 lead thanks to a strong first inning, and rode the momentum to victory. Junction City would rally to get within three in the fifth inning, but would ultimately fall 9-5 in the effort.
The loss marked the seventh in a row for Junction City, as they close the regular season with a losing record, and will begin regional play next week, with their opponent yet to be determined.
