Members of the public are invited to “Roll out with a library card” all September in recognition of National Library Card Sign-Up Month. The Dorothy Bramlage Public Library announced that they will host a number of activities to encourage the community to get a library card and help reach the goal of two hundred new cards during the month of September.
The celebration will include the Transformers Fortieth Birthday Party on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. -12:00 p.m. There will be light refreshments, crafts, games and other fun things planned to celebrate libraries and Transformers, both of which have “more than meets the eye.” Attendees are also invited to wear their favorite Transformer swag. Registration is required for the event.
Also happening this month is:
· A drawing for a transformer themed prize when current or new cardholders show their card to a member of the library staff.
· A small gift for the first fifty people who get a library card.
· A free book from the daily book sale on the day they get their card.
· Access to print and digital materials available the same day the library account is set up.
· Take and make crafts, coloring sheets, activity sheets, etc. available at the circulation desk.
· A food or cash donation opportunity for the Geary County Food Pantry in lieu of the usual fee for replacing an existing card.
