Gary Habluetzel - January 18, 2021

Gary was born February 10, 1942 in Clay County, the son of Robert and Ruth (Reed) Habluetzel.  He grew up in Clay County, attending school in Clay Center and Morganville. Gary graduated as Valedictorian of his class from Morganville High School in 1960. He attended Brown Mackie College and worked at the flour mill in Salina.  Gary married Janet Allen on July 20, 1962 and they moved back to Clay County in 1963. Gary worked for the ASCS office from 1963 until 1971. The couple then farmed in northern Clay County until retiring in 2014 and moving to Clay Center. Gary mowed at Greenwood Cemetery from 2015 until 2020.  He was a member of the Clay Center Methodist Church, the Clay Center Elks Lodge for 38 years, where he was Exalted Ruler for 4 years and the Sons of the American Legion in Linn. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ron, Doug and Lynn; sister, Karen Franklin.

Son: Randy (Kathy) Habluetzel of Charlotte, NC

Daughter: Laura (Dana) Trumpp of Clay Center, KS

Son: Scott (Shelly) Habluetzel of Barneston, NE

6 Grandchildren: Kyle Habluetzel of Charlotte, NC, Kevin Habluetzel of Charlotte, NC, Kristen (Eddy) Avery of Clay Center, Kimberly Trumpp of Salina, Joseph (Tamara) Habluetzel of Barneston, NE and Jeramy Habluetzel of Barneston, NE. 

4 Great Grandchildren: Joslyn Avery, Ensley Avery, William Habluetzel and Charles Habluetzel

Numerous other family members and many friends

There will be no visitation

Private family services will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS
