MANHATTAN —Authorities are working to determine the cause of an early morning house fire in Manhattan.
Just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire 1121 Claflin Road, according to Sam Dameron, Assistant Fire Chief.
Crews found the single-story home with smoke coming from the eaves of the roof. Upon entry into the structure, crews located the fire in the attic and were able to extinguish it within 10 minutes.
There were four people home at the time of the fire and all residents were able to exit without injury prior to the fire department arriving.
Loss is estimated at $10,000 to contents and $45,000 to the structure. The owner is listed as Blake Vargo of Manhattan.
