All Aboard for a Journey of Faith and Fun: Wonder Junction VBS Pulls into Junction City First UMC, July 14–18
JUNCTION CITY, Kan.— This summer, the sounds of laughter, music, and discovery will fill the halls of Junction City First United Methodist Church as children from across the community gather for Wonder Junction Vacation Bible School, held Monday through Friday, July 14–18, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This year's theme, Wonder Junction, invites children to imagine life as a grand journey powered by God's love. With daily stops at Bible storytelling stations, creative craft corners, upbeat worship rallies, science experiments, games, and engaging mission moments, kids will explore how God moves with us through every season of life—just like a journey on a railway of wonder and hope.
Children entering Preschool through 6th Grade are welcome to join the adventure. Registration is completely free, and families can register online at www.jc1stumc.com or in person on the first day.
Each morning will begin with a welcoming rally, followed by interactive small-group rotations where children will:
• Hear and act out exciting Bible stories that bring faith to life
• Make themed crafts to take home as reminders of the lessons learned
• Participate in active games that teach teamwork and joy
• Sing uplifting songs that kids will be humming long after VBS ends
• Learn about local and global mission projects that show how we can help others
A healthy morning snack will be provided daily, ensuring each child has the energy to engage, explore, and grow.
Wonder Junction isn’t just about fun—it’s about formation. “We are full-steam ahead,” JC 1st UMC Children’s Ministry Director Haylee Wilson said. “Join us as we venture into the ‘Good News’ of Jesus Christ.”
The church, located at 804 North Jefferson Street in Junction City, is known for its vibrant children’s ministry, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to serving the local community.
VBS at JC First UMC is open to all children — whether members of the church, visitors, or those exploring faith for the first time.
Volunteers are still needed!
Youth and adult helpers can sign up to serve in various roles, from crew leaders and kitchen helpers to storytellers and activity guides. Volunteering is a meaningful way to impact the lives of young people and be part of something joyful and spiritually enriching.
