Donna Lee Lussenhop Motley

Donna Lee Lussenhop Motley, 86, Junction City, KS, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Cremation has taken place. The family will inter her cremated remains alongside her husband at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Junction City.

Donna was born March 13, 1935, in Redwood Falls, MN, to Albert Charles and Edna (Payne) Lussenhop.

At a young age, Donna moved to Kewanee, IL where she attended school. When she was in high school, she moved to Manhattan, KS to live with her older sister and to finish school. She graduated May 24, 1953 with the class of 1953 at Manhattan High School. Two days after graduation, she married her life partner Stephen Frank Motley. To this union, they had three children. Elizabeth (Becky) Motley Thompson, Patricia (Pat) Motley Shankle and Frank Motley. Donna was an avid bowler and enjoyed attending events at the Eagle's. Over the years, she worked at Geary Community Hospital as a Ward Clerk. Donna was very happy when built the new hospital in Junction City. After her long career at the hospital, she became a civil servant working at Ft. Riley having retired in 1995. After her retirement, she worked as a church secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church. During retirement, she enjoyed driving to Dallas to help with her children and grandchildren. She was living in Dallas with her son Frank when her health started to decline. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alzheimer's. As Frank's health was declining, she moved back to Junction City in 2019 to live with her daughter Pat.

Survivors include her son, Frank Motley and her daughter Pat Schankle both of Junction City, KS; two grandsons, one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Becky; one son-in-law Bob Shankle; one brother and five siters.
