As the Thanksgiving Holiday draws near, it is important for people to remember to continue to practice safety in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Geary County continues to have a Health Order in effect which requires the use of a mask which covers your nose and mouth when you are in public and cannot practice personal distancing of 6 feet or more. It is also important to remember to wash or sanitize your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, nose, mouth or eyes, and to stay home if you are not feeling well or are running a fever.

As the holidays approach officials want everyone continue to be healthy and enjoy their time with their families. The local health order can be viewed on the Geary County website www.gearycounty.org under the COVID-19 link. In addition, information on the proper wearing of masks, Thanksgiving Safety, and COVID-19 information can be found at the Health Department link below.

As a reminder, gatherings of larger than 100 are prohibited and special events require approval from the local health department at least 2 weeks in advance of the event.
