Geary County Commissioners received a briefing Monday from the Rural Fire Department.
--There have been eight rural fire calls.
--One recent fire burned 150 bales at an estimated loss of $34,000. It was caused by a welder working on a fence in the wind.
--Seven new recruits received training, four of them for Geary and three for Grandview Plaza.
--The annual severe weather spotter training will be held at 7 p.m. March 16 at the Geary County 4-H / Senior Center.
--Snow removal numbers from January 23 - 25 ranged from 2,253 miles driven by graders and dump trucks on day one to 109 hours worked on day two to 450 gallons of fuel, also on day two.
