On July 16 at the Hampton Inn, the JC Breakfast Optimist Club members heard a presentation from Josh Gray, Junction City Parks and Recreation Director about the many programs and facilities in Junction City.

Josh listed the programs available for youth, which include outdoor soccer, family card game night, tennis camp, youth pickleball camp, swim lessons for 3 and up, and Toddler Times for children 10 months to 5 years old.

There are 12 parks in Junction City available for use by youth and adults. These parks provide playground equipment; a skate park; basketball courts; biking, skating, and jogging trails; picnicking areas; softball fields and more.

Adult programs and athletics include family card night, Walk 4 Fit; Adult Pickleball; Fitness classes; 3 On 3 Basketball Tournament and a Fall Volleyball League.

Volunteers are needed to sponsor youth sport leagues, coaching, and refereeing. For more information contact JACQUELINE: at Jacqueline.lingle@junction city-ks.gov.
