Remember those who have fallen, honor those who serve and teach our children the value of freedom. Those were three key points during the Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday at the Fort Riley Cemetery.

This was the 18th year for the volunteer supported event at Fort Riley, while Wreaths Across America dates its overall history nationwide to 1992.

Colonel Terry Tillis, Deputy Commanding Officer for Maneuver for the 1st Infantry Division, delivered keynote remarks. "We join many others across the nation to pay our respects to those who have served our country who now lie here in this cemetery. "

Tillis also noted that it was an opportunity to honor those who paid the ultimate price for their service and remember their sacrifices and commitment, "while also remembering the families of these heroes."
