JCHS Announces New Athletic Event Procedures

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. - In an effort to provide a safer environment and improve security for the 2025-26 school year, Geary County Schools USD 475 and Junction City High School will implement clear bag use, which limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into stadiums, gymnasiums and other athletic fields a

Fans are able to carry the following style and size bag or package into the venue.• 

--Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC, and do not exceed 12x6x12

--• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)

--• Small clutch bags must not exceed 5.5 x 7.5, with or without a handle or strap.

--• Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items or diaper bags (subject to search)

Bags Not Permitted: Backpacks, printed plastic bags, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags and large totes.These rules will also be enforced at Blue Jay Athletic Events. 

There will be no re-entry after leaving the event without additional ticket purchase. 

All middle school students (sixth through eighth grade) must have their physical school ID to enter the game at student price. If no school ID is available, a student must pay adult price.

 All USD 475 middle school students, in good standing, must purchase and enter through the main gates. • All high school students will enter through the designated gate to purchase and enter events.

Not allowed: No firearms or weapons of any kind• No fireworks, flares, etc. • No outside food or drink• No alcohol• No coolers • No laser pointing devices• No illegal substances like alcohol or drugs• No tobacco products, e-cigs, vapes• No noise making devices like air horns, bullhorns, cow bells, etc.• No skateboards, rollerblades or heelys

Any other items deemed dangerous or unacceptable by security and administration are strictly prohibited
