Optimists will raise funds to support youth organizations

JC Breakfast Optimist Club members will conduct a fundraiser at JC’s BBQ & Grill on East Chestnut Street on Monday, from 11:00 AM until close. 

According to Club Secretary Dr. Ferrell Miller, 10% percent of purchases will go to the Optimist Club to support Geary County youth organizations.  Those organizations include Big Brothers/ Big Sisters; Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Dorothy Bramlage Summer Reading Program; Fort Riley Special Needs Rodeo; Geary County Historical Society’s Programs and Education Department; I.C.A.R.E.; Junction City Community Band Scholarship Program; JCHS Fine Arts Department; Shop With A Cop; JCLT Summer Program; JCHS JROTC; St. Francis Christmas Is For Kids and the United Way Stuff the Bus.

Local businesses who provide sponsorship for the work of the JC Breakfast Optimist Club include Central National Bank; Armed Forces Bank; Holm Auto Center; Jim Clark Chevrolet; Hampton Inn; JC’s BBQ & Grill; Cardinal Insurance; Heath Welch, State Farm Agency; Coldwell Banker/Patriot Realty; NextHome Unlimited and Re/Max Signature Properties.
