Carol Ann Hammond, 71, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on November 15, 2024.
Carol Ann was born on January 27, 1953, to James A. Carter Sr., and Manuella (Bond) Carter in Fort Ord, California, but grew up in Kansas. Junction City was her home with most of her family members here in town.
After high school, she went on to work at a few factories in Junction City, Kansas. She made sure to provide for her family.
Retirement from the factory wasn't enough to please Ms. Carol Ann. She went on to work 20 years at the Junction City Transportation Company as a bus aide. She helped many children in the community.
She is survived by one daughter, Janell (Hammond) Smith of Junction City; one son, Vernon Carter of Junction City, Kansas; one brother, James Carter Jr., of Manhattan, Kansas and a host of loving grandchildren, family, and friends.
Carol Ann is preceded in death by her loving parents; one brother, Karl Carter and one sister-in-law, DeKarla Carter; two grandsons, Joshua L. Smith and Shawmon Johnson.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to go to Ward Chapel AME, Junction City, Kansas.
A visitation will take place at the Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
