The Junction City Brigade open the home portion of their schedule Friday night at Rathert Field against the Wichita Wildcats. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
It will be Hometown Heroes and Military Appreciation Night. There will be one dollar admission for those fans. Hometown Heroes include personnel ranging from emergency management and medical to educators and dispatchers.
There will be fireworks after the game.
Micah Cannon will be the new head coach for the team which has joined the Jayhawk Collegiate League for the first time afer winning a series of championships in the Mid Plains League. Brigade General Manager Cecil Aska likes the move. "Be really good for us, more challenging league." He added, "I think we've assembled a good solid team." Cannon comes to Junction City after spending two years at Emporia State.
