Edmund “Ed” Zemp, age 97, of Manhattan, KS died Friday August 12, 2022 at the Home of the Flint Hills in St. George, KS. Ed was born on July 26, 1925 in Wola Mlocka, Poland, the son of Samuel and Augusta (Meister) Sempf. On April 3, 1954 in Bedford, England, he was united in marriage to Jean Lillian Ellis. She preceded Ed in death on December 29, 2017. Ed and Jean immigrated to the United States in 1961. They moved to Warren, Michigan. Ed immediately started working at Howard Plating Industries and continued to work there until his retirement at age 65. He and Jean moved to Manhattan, KS in 2017, to be closer to their daughter Anne Byford and her family. Ed is survived by his daughters, Christine Fletcher and her husband Rev. Joe Fletcher, and Anne Byford and her husband Rev. David Byford. Also, he is survived by his grandchildren: Matthew Byford and his wife Rachel Byford, and Barbara Jean Zhao and her husband Yang Zhao, and his great-grandchild Benjamin and Liam Zhao. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday August 15, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, 1001 South Scenic Drive in Manhattan KS with Rev. David Byford and Rev. Joe Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.&nbsp;&nbsp;
