Law enforcement and emergency personnel responded to a two-car collision near U.S. 77 and the Milford exit in the one o'clock hour, according to authorities.
According to information provided by the Sheriff's Department one vehicle driven by Calvin Whitaker, 52, Junction City, was northbound and a vehicle driven by Penny Shandy, 56, was southbound when her vehicle tried to turn east on Shandy Lane. Both drivers refused treatment but a passenger in the second vehicle, Gary Shandy, 82, was transported to Geary Community Hospital. He was being checked for any impact from the accident that might have impacted a recent surgery that he underwent.
The Sheriff's Department confirmed the vehicles involved were totaled.
