65th District State Representative Lonnie Clark is working to try and bring a Veterans Home to Junction City. He has held some discussions with state officials on this potential project. "It's not confirmed yet but they're looking for a new old soldiers home in the state of Kansas."
Clark told a recent legislative coffee audience hosted by the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce that is "working desperately hard for that to come here." He noted that it will be a battle between Junction City and Leavenworth. "Right now I'm pretty confident, but that's just in the works. Nothing has been really guaranteed with either one, but that's one of the things that we've worked on real hard all year."
