More than $1.3 million will be spent on the 2021 street maintenance program in Junction City. Ray Ibarra, Public Works Director, said the total of $1,379,498 will be the largest amount of money spent on the program.
The program will consist of a two-inch mill and overlay of 86,296 square yards of streets and 12,126 tons of hot mix asphalt.
One of the major projects will involve the mill and overlay of a prominent east-west roadway through the city, Ash Street from Spring Valley Road to Washington Street.
Bayers Construction has begun work on Franklin Street from Grant Ave. to 6th Street, Madison from 18th to 15th, and 13th Street from Jackson to Madison Street.
Other streets will include:
- Wheatland Dr. from Ash to McFarland
- Kansa Ave. from Wheatland Dr. to Southwind Dr.
- Sunflower Dr. from Wheatland Dr. to Southwind Dr.
- Sunflower Ct. from the Cul-de-sac to Wheatland Dr.
- Windsong Ct.
- Harvest Ct.
- Southwind Dr. from Ash St. to Sunflower Drive
