Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Wilson

Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Wilson, age 77, a longtime Manhattan resident, died September 23, 2021, at the Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice House in Manhattan.

She was born July 6, 1944, in Manhattan, the daughter of Milton and Lillian (Blakley) Fortner.

Sally attended Manhattan Schools and then graduated from Crum’s Beauty College.

She worked for Armour Swift – Eckrich processing plant in Junction City.

Sally enjoyed crafts especially crocheting, counted cross stitch and quilting. She also enjoyed wood working and baking.

She was married to George David Wilson. George preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Barkley and Carolyn Besa; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her five children: Tony Fortner and his wife Kathy of Morganville, Doug Wilson and his wife Manuela of Wamego, Buffy Perez and her husband Thomas of Manhattan, Troy Wilson and his wife Rachel of Wamego, and Steven Wilson and his wife Dawn of Manhattan; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation is planned with private family graveside services in Sunset Cemetery.

The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502, is assisting the family with arrangements.
