RILEY COUNTY—Three people were injured in two separate accident on Tuesday in Riley County.
Just before 11:30a.m., a 2023 Hyundai Tucson driven by Dennis Ortbals, 74, of Manhattan, struck a 2024 Nissan Sentra driven by Aubrey Heier-Gonzalez, 17, of Manhattan in the 400 block of E. Highway 24, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
Pottawatomie County EMS transported Ortbals, and a passenger in the Hyundia, Marilyn Ortbals, 72, of Manhattan, to Via Christi Hospital. Dennis Ortbals was also issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign.
Just after 10:30p.m., a 2015 Chevy Impala driven by Alexis Trimble, 24, of Marysville, hit two guardrails in the 17000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd.
Trimble was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Riley County EMS for her injuries. The RCPD released no additional details.
