Geary County Rural Fire spent the majority of Saturday afternoon and early evening on two rekindle fires back to back.
At about 2:30 p.m., units were dispatched to K-57 about 1 mile south of Grandview Plaza. Units helped the landowner control a fire that had rekindled.
As they were finishing that call, one came in for a fire in the area of Carr Road about 8 miles south.
Units controlled that fire and were assisted by Dwight Fire units. Grandview Plaza sent 5 personnel to assist Geary County units with mopping up the area and making a buffer zone around the fire scene. The area was made up of bushy vegetation and trees.
The Geary County Fire Auxiliary provided supper and rehab drinks for all on the fire scene. Units were back in the Stations around 8:30 p.m.
