JUNCTION CITY - On Wednesday, November 29th at 6:00 pm at the CL Hoover Opera House, 'The First Day' film screening will be free to attend.
The Geary County Health Department has partnered with the Riley and Pottawatomie County Health Departments, along with the City of Manhattan and the City of Wamego to bring a free screening of the film, 'The First Day' to residents in the area.
'The First Day' is a film to raise awareness about substance misuse.
According to the Riley County Health Department, raising awareness is the first step towards making meaningful change.
This powerful, emotional film challenges the idea of who is vulnerable to substance misuse and addiction.
Working together and supporting each other will give the opportunity to change the outcome of someone's life.
The film is 45 minutes long, and there will be a brief discussion following the film.
The film is intended for community members who are middle school aged students and older.
No reservations or tickets are needed to attend.
If you cannot attend the Wednesday night viewing, there a free screening in Manhattan on Monday, November 27th at 6:00 pm at the Crestview Christian Church.
