City wants to seek funding to prepare for Taylor Road interchange

Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel said this week that the city wants to apply for money through the Kansas Department of Commerce base fund program. Dinkel said that is basically COVID money received by the state.

The city wants the money to extend water and sewer service to the area on the southwest side of the town where a new Taylor Road interchange off I-70 is planned in the future. Dinkel said officials hope the interchange is there in the next two to four years. "We'll need infrastructure out there to serve people that want to build and expand business and industries, and anything else out in that area."
