USD 475 reported this week that the H.D. Karns Innovations Academy has had 19 early graduates with 17 of them being recognized for completing their graduation requirements during the month of December. In all, Braden Carpenter, Syntrell Carter, Diego Correa, Javier De Santiago Medina, Landen Dorsey, Anthony Green, Mason Greene, Mason López, Ava Miles, Wyatt Miller, Sadid Pagan Galarza, Alex Paris, Darian Pope, Jeremiah Schaeffer, Michael Thomas, Astrid Torres Nieves and Nazyia Tynes were honored in front of friends, family, district staff and others inside the H.D. Karns auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

H.D. Karns has begun implementing a Level system in its Behavior Intervention Room to correct behaviors and provide students with tools to improve their social and emotional skills. They are also providing more hands-on time and activities through classroom structures.

• The HD Karns Innovations Academy will apply for its own building number and begin implementing a level structure for students on Tuesday, Jan. 21 to assist them with setting goals and working toward them.
