Charmion Harris founded Wild Unity following the COVID 19 pandemic after closing an earlier YOGA studio that was doing well until the pandemic hit. Yoga works to balance the mind, body and soul. She noted that it needs to be accessible to people from all backgrounds.

So far about 200 people have participated in the program with an average of about 10 attending the weekly classes.

There have been opportunities for sound therapy through the program to help address healing of  the body, brain and the electromagnetic field around the body when it sustains kinks.

Laurie McCallister is a board member for Wild Unity. She noted that there are focus areas for classes including calm, wild, strong and well. Those four types of classes are not normally offered in a regular studio class.

McCallister said that there is a connection to your inner self, other sense of calmness and a sense of peace.

The Saturday classes this summer will begin June 1 and June 8 in Heritage Park. In the event of inclement  weather they will be held indoors at 1440 Pearl Drive.
