Animals in the roadway lead to problems

Geary County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 4100 block of Humboldt Creek Road at 6:50 p.m. Thursday for a non-injury single  vehicle accident with a cow. Shayla Lowry, Junction City, was traveling south in a Ford F-250 when a cow entered the roadway. There was disabling damage to the vehicle.

The Sheriff's Department reported that Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Liberty Hall Road  for a non-injury single vehicle accident with a deer. Robert McMillan, Abilene, was traveling west in a Mazda Tribute when a deer entered the roadway. Minor damages were reported for the vehicle.  The accident was reported at 5:09 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies arrested Dewayne Fisher, Lincoln, NB, on U.S. &7 Highway at mile marker 157 on suspicion of flee or attempt to elude, Exceeding maximum speed limit, Improper driving on laned roadway, Failure to stop at a stop light, Failure to give proper turn signal, Reckless driving and Driving while suspended. The arrest occurred at 10:16 a.m. Thursday.
