The Lady Jay tennis team celebrated the opening of the Fall 2022 season and the new Blue Jay Tennis Complex by earning numerous victories in their home Junction City Varsity Quadrangular. Other teams in the event were Lawrence Free State, Salina South and Manhattan.
Junction City went 2-1 on the day. Those included Rachel Cho at #1 singles and both doubles teams. Grace Harris and Stephanie Stanislow competed at the #1 doubles spot and Ohemaa Sarpong and Rebecca Monroe competed at the #2 doubles position. Julia Cho also competed for the Lady Jays at the #2 singles position.
This was the first competition to be held at the new tennis complex. The Lady Jays started practicing on the courts just over a week ago. They will travel to Washburn Rural for a quadrangular next Thursday, September 8. Matches will be held at Washburn Rural High School and begin at 3 pm.
