There have been changes in recent months for three Geary County lodging facilities.
Convention & Visitor's Bureau Director Raquel Cinco said that the Great Western Inn in Grandview Plaza has been converted into apartments. The Homestead Motel at 1736 North Washington was demolished to make room for a new Casey's. Motel 6 at 1731 Lacy Drive has been closed since July.
Those changes leave Geary County with 14 hotels / motels.
Also, the Hampton Inn at 1039 South Washington, recently underwent a renovation. Sonesta Essential at 310 Hammons Drive has completed one year of operation for that facility. The building has been there approximately 22 years.
