RCPD: School employee battered attempting to break up fight

RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an altercation that injured an employee at Manhattan High School.

Just before 11:30a.m. Wednesday, officers filed a report for aggravated battery and battery in the 2100 block of Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

A 14-year-old boy and a 36-year old woman were listed as the victims when it was reported a 15-year-old boy engaged in an altercation with the 14-year-old.  A school employee attempted to intervene and was battered in the process.

Police released no details on the injuries or treatment for the school employee or additional information.
