Reginald Winfield McIntire passed away peacefully on the evening of 11 February 2021 in Clay Center, KS. He was born in Stockton Springs, Maine on 13 October 1925 to parents Dora and Joseph McIntire. Reggie was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, four sisters, his first wife Lillian and second wife Ruby.
Reggie is survived by, two stepsons, David Larman of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Larman of Clay Center, KS, and their wives Shyla and Elizabeth, two stepdaughters, Linda Crocker of Edmond, OK and Janet Clement of Oklahoma City, OK, and Linda’s husband, Sonny.
Although Reggie was 95, he was born 100 years to soon. He was a cowboy at heart, and loved all types of outdoor activities, camping, hunting, fishing, and was an avid golfer. Reggie was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Reggie’s military career started in the Navy in 1943 as a Gunners Mate, providing armed cover for Victory and Liberty ships taking supplies to the European allies. He ended his service in 1974 in the Air Force at Bergstrom AFB Texas, as an Avionics Reconnaissance Superintendent.
Visitation: February 18, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. Due to family travel restrictions a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
