Traffic flow improved Friday in Junction City, as the U.S. 40 Business bridge reopened to traffic and final work for the bridge replacement nears completion.

The bridge is located on U.S. 40 Business/6th&nbsp;Street over the Union Pacific Railroad and Monroe Street, just east of Washington Street in Junction City.

Motorists should anticipate an occasional lane closure in each direction as the contractor wraps up the final stages of construction. Final completion of all work is anticipated to be completed by June 2024, weather permitting.

King Construction, Inc. of Hesston is the primary contractor for this $15.9 million project.
