USD 475 release
JUNCTION CITY, Kan.- Geary County Schools USD 475 has earned recognition from the Kansas State Department of Education for the 2022-23 school year in the following areas: Kindergarten Readiness, Social Emotional Growth, Individual Plans of Study and Civic Engagement.
Kindergarten Readiness remained steady at a Bronze star, while Social Emotional Growth improved from a Copper to a Bronze. USD 475 had not previously received recognition in the area of Individual Plans of Study and has now received a Copper Star.
In addition to the four schools recognized last year (Junction City Middle School, Fort Riley Middle School, Milford Elementary and Ware Elementary), KSDE has announced that four more Geary County Schools (Lincoln Elementary, Spring Valley Elementary, Junction City High School and Fort Riley Elementary) have earned the Civic Advocacy Network Award for their commitment to civic engagement for students. KSDE will be recognizing them during state webinars and sending a banner to display in their schools.
The district now has eight schools recognized in this area at the state level. All of these marks will be included on the updated School Accountability Report which will be released in January.
