Lady Jay tennis competes at Topeka West

Junction City Lady Jay tennis competed in the Topeka West Tennis Invitational on Tuesday.  The event featured 12 teams.  The doubles teams of Grace Harris and Stephanie Stanislow finished the day as the highest place finisher for the Lady Jays with a 6th place result.  They went 2-2 on the day in the top doubles bracket defeating both  Marysville and Olathe South opponents.  The other doubles team of Ohemaa Sarpong and Sarah Chang finished in 8th place in the #2 doubles bracket.

 In singles, Julia Cho earned 9th place going 2-1 on the day in the 2nd singles bracket.  She was able to defeat opponents from Topeka West and Leavenworth.  In the top singles bracket, Rachel Cho went 1-2 on the day, finishing in 10th place.  Salina Central won the team championship and Topeka Seaman finished as the runner up. 

The Lady Jays have now completed their regular season and next play in the Centennial League Tournament on Monday, October 3rd.  Matches will begin at 9 am and be held at the Emporia High School Tennis Courts.
