Kelli McCallum wants to serve on the Geary USD 475 Board of Education. She is candidate for a seat on the Board. "If I am elected I would really like to see us get to a point where we're inviting a lot more community involvement and parent discussions in decisions that are made as well as being positive and inclusive of conversations that are going to happen."

McCallum said she might favor the number of minutes members of the public can speak at Board meetings. "I also know that in the past they've limited how many people that could speak. I understand why that happens at times but I also feel like we need to let people say what they need to say and hear from people. Set minutes maybe needs to happen just for timeliness of the meeting but limiting the number of people may be something to consider." McCallum would also be a proponent of town hall meetings. McCallum also wants to advocate for the staff.

McCallum has lived in Junction City for 15 years, her husband works for the Junction City Fire Department, they have two children attending District schools and she is a certified residential real estate appraiser. She has volunteered for many activities in USD 475.
