According to discussion at the Geary County Commssion meeting:
--Work has begun on the I-70 - K-18 flyover road construction project, and also on the J-Hill Road bridge project. For the I-70 - K-18 project Boller Road has been closed.
--The next commission night meeting will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 20.
--The next joint city - county - school board meeting will be Feb. 23.
--Commissioners favor keeping the Montgomery Building open over the holiday period and not locked. The CVB is open much of that time for public business.
--The CVB has lined up three fishing tournaments including Bass Nation, Catfish Chasers and Milford Lake Blues.
--Longtime rural firefighters will be honored January 14 at 6 p.m. Clark Carroll and John Moyer have retired.
--The CVB will be seeking to fill a marketing position.
--The new Visitors's Guide is out. You can get one at the CVB offices at 222 W. 6th Street.
--County transient guest tax revenues decreased by 2% in 2025.
