USD 475 school board candidate Bryan Bliss recently noted that Geary County has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the state and he wants to bring in an organization called "Relate 360." "They've got some great hearts to them, they're a regional area, they teach over 2,000 kids in public school systems and they come alongside the present curriculum for three to five days, get some good discussions going."

Bliss supports Dave Ramsey's curriculum that is designed for K-12 public schools. "I think there are a lot of students graduating from high school that are just not  familiar with how to handle their finances very well. "Dave Ramsey teaches a lot about the value of hard work, he teaches that you are not a victim of anyone or anything or where you grew up."

On the issue of staff morale Bliss noted that discipline issues have been brought up during his conversations with teachers and parents. "There are teachers that have been cussed at, they've been bitten, scratched and they bring it in front of the supervisors, the supervisors talk to the parents and a lot of times there's not much consequences for the children. " Bliss added that a  lot of teachers don't feel like its been reviewed intensely. Bliss thinks if education on behavior in class starts young and if there is misbehavior kids need to be held accountable for their actions.

The election is Tuesday.
