After a warm, windy Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Topeka said a cold front will quickly bring weather back to the Manhattan-Junction City area.
South winds gusting up to 45 mph have led to a wind advisory through 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Rain is expected to arrive in the area before 4 p.m. Thursday, and a daytime high near 60 degrees will quickly drop into the 20s. There is a 60 percent chance of rain Thursday, with a 30 percent chance of snow in the evening hours as the mercury drops.
Skies will clear by Friday, but cold, windy conditions will persist into the weekend, the NWS said.
