Blue Jays finish 6th in League Tennis

Junction City Blue Jay boys tennis coach Matt Micheel reported that his team finished sixth in the Centennial League Tennis Tournament in Emporia on Tuesday. For Junction City, Alex Matthews and Cesar Edgerton Diaz Lorenzo had the highest finish on the day as they went 3-2, earning a 7th place finish in the doubles bracket.

Hayden Diestelkamp led the Blue Jays in singles with a 2-3 record and an 8th place finish. Chris Beers picked up a win on his final round, while Alan Leis and David Trammell were the other doubles entry for the Blue Jays.

Washburn Rural won the overall team title, followed by Topeka West as the runner up. The Blue Jays next compete in the 6A Regional Tennis Tournament this Friday, May 6th at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka. Matches are scheduled to start at 10 am.
