Leroy J. Deaver, 87, of Clay Center, died Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor with family by his side. He was born September 1, 1934, in Grant, NE, the son of Nathan and Anna (Hergott) Deaver. Leroy grew up in Fairbury, NE, until moving to Clyde, KS, where he attended Clyde High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 thru 1959. Leroy married Dorothy Gudenkauf on February 6, 1960. He worked for Sears as an Appliance Repair Technician from 1965 until his initial retirement in 1992. He then owned and operated Leroy’s Appliance Service from 1992 until his retirement several years later. Leroy was a member of the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Old Car Nuts Car Club. Along with his car club membership, Leroy’s favorite hobby was restoring classic cars for show, and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Leo Deaver and sister, Rose Eilert.

9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren

Funeral Mass: Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00AM at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas
Burial: SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas
Visitation: Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4-7PM at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, where the Rosary will be recited at 7PM.
Memorials: may be made to BPW Scholarship, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church or Clay Center Presbyterian Manor and can be sent c/o funeral home.
