The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has opened K-177 between Council Grove and I-70 in Morris and Geary counties. The detour for K-177 is no longer in effect.
The reconstructed K-177 provides a wider, straighter and flatter roadway with improved shoulders.
Drivers should anticipate occasional lane closures controlled by flaggers and a pilot car for seeding, pavement marking and cleanup. All project work is scheduled to be completed by May 17, 2024, weather permitting.
Wildcat Construction Co. Inc. and Subsidaries of Wichita is the primary contractor for the $52.3 million project to reconstruct K-177.
