EDWARDS COUNTY&nbsp;–&nbsp; Special agents of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested the Edwards County Undersheriff early Monday related to a domestic violence incident, according to a media release from the KBI.

Just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, a 911 call was made from a residence in Kinsley. When a deputy from the Edwards County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, he learned that Robert “Bobby” Blackwell, 39, of Kinsley, who is the Edwards County Undersheriff, was involved in a physical altercation. 

At approximately 8:15 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office contacted the KBI to investigate the incident.

KBI agents responded to Kinsley to investigate. After collecting evidence and conducting interviews of involved parties, Blackwell was arrested for aggravated domestic battery. The arrest occurred at around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning. He was then booked into the Ford County Detention Center.

Kansas undersheriff jailed for alleged domestic battery 

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas jail deputy on new charges after two arrests and charges filed against him in another incident over the past month.

On Sunday, police arrested Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Detention Deputy Aareon White on a requested charges of misdemeanor Domestic Violence Battery and Battery, according to Sheriff's Lt. Benjamin Blick.

Following the arrest, Deputy White was suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal and internal investigation.

Kan. jail deputy arrested twice, charged in another case last month

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A Kansas man has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and manslaughter after a head-on collision that killed a 19-year-old from Caldwell.

Kansas man accused of DUI after wrong-way crash kills teen

KANSAS CITY, KAN. – A federal grand jury in Kansas City returned an indictment charging 15 people with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, according to the United State's Attorney.

The defendants allegedly intentionally conspired to distribute cocaine in the state of Kansas and elsewhere between January 2019 and September 2021, according to court documents.

The defendants include Santiago Gamboa-Saenz, 34, Maria Cota, 32, Efrain Garcia-Perez, 37, Dimas Calixto-Filho, 41, Juan Avarez-Perez, 35, Bryan Dominguez-Green, 20, Irlanda Grajeda, 31,

Vladimir Blanco-Garciga, 49, Miguel Vazquez-Rodriguez, 35, Eduardo Ramirez-Ochoa, 32, Jesus Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 30, Homero Baca-Marquez, 23, Jaime Ocampo, 57, Jose Cera-Acosta, 35, and Frank De La Cruz, 36.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Kansas City and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Northeast Kansas Drug Task Force are investigating the case.

“Drug trafficking organizations are all about making money,” said Assistant Agent in Charge Rogeana Patterson-King, DEA lead for the state of Kansas. “This joint federal and state investigation stopped more than a million dollars’ worth of cocaine from reaching our communities, and more than $730,000 of proceeds from returning to the organization. This is particularly satisfying because this illegal industry jeopardizes public safety with these dangerous drugs.”

“HSI special agents, working with their state and federal law enforcement partners, were able to prevent a substantial amount of dangerous narcotics from reaching the streets and jeopardizing the safety of people who live there,” said HSI Kansas City Special Agent in Charge Katherine Greer.

“Our communities are safer when we, law enforcement officers and individuals in the communities we serve, work together collectively to end drug trafficking in our neighborhoods.”

Feds uncover Kansas cocaine distribution conspiracy

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A suspect in a fatal stabbing at a Kansas home has been moved from a hospital to jail.

Just after 10 p.m. Sept. 21, police responded to a call at a home in the 100 block of North Glenn in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.  Upon arrival, officers located 67-year-old Kurt Petersen and determined he had been stabbed multiple times.  Petersen was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The investigation revealed, Petersen’s caretaker came to the home to check on him and found him lying on the kitchen floor with injuries and called 911.&nbsp; James Shaw, 60, was also inside of the residence when the caretaker arrived.&nbsp; Examination of evidence and interviews led to Shaw’s arrest, according to Davidson.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On Thursday, Shaw was released from a Wichita hospital and moved to the Sedgwick County Jail. He <a href="https://ssc.sedgwickcounty.org/sheriffinmates/SheriffInmateDetail.aspx?nameId=20048179">is jailed on requested</a> charges of first degree murder and a warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections. The Sedgwick County District Attorney did not release details on when Shaw would make a first court appearance.

This was not a random incident as Shaw and Petersen were known to each other.&nbsp; Additionally, Shaw has had previous felony arrests and convictions and is currently on parole through the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC).&nbsp; He was paroled to Wichita from Wyandotte County.&nbsp;

Suspect in fatal Kansas stabbing moved from hospital to jail

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating the theft of a decorative bench from Christ the King Church on Sept. 19 have made an arrest.

On Thursday, police arrested 27-year-old Austin Greenhoff on charges related to two theft incidents in Wichita, including the theft of the bench from the church.

The arrest was made after extensive follow-up work by the Wichita Police Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit. With the help of citizens, they were able to locate Greenhoff, his truck, and evidence of the crimes committed. 

He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges that include the two theft cases and he is also a suspect in four additional cases that occurred in Sedgwick County.

Police capture suspect in theft from Kansas church

JACKSON COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects after a robbery and theft at a Kansas convenience store.

Just after 11 pm Sept 22, deputies responded to report of a robbery at the Seven Eleven store located at 111 U.S. Highway 75 in Holton, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

 The men left after allegedly taking a financial card from the clerk. The suspects drove away in a white Dodge Charger.  Holton Police and Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area. A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle two miles south of the City of Holton and executed a car stop on the vehicle.

 An assortment of area law enforcement officers descended on the scene where the two men were taken into custody. Mondre Malik Willis, 21, of Flint, Michigan, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of robbery, criminal use of weapons, possession of firearm by an addicted person, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

 Rory Amere Deion Gillespie, 20, of Flint, Michigan was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of robbery, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff: Suspects captured after armed-robbery at Kan. store

MANHATTAN, KAN. – A Manhattan man has been arrested by the Topeka Police Department in connection to the murder of a 27-year-old woman in Manhattan early Saturday, according to Riley County Police Department spokesperson Aaron Wintermote.

Just before 6:00 a.m., officers responded to report of a man who had possibly murdered a family member in the 400 block of S. 12th Street and left the scene. 

First responders found Shanell Bobian, 27, of Manhattan. She was pronounced dead. Police did release details on where they found her.

Police identified Kamahl Bobian, 27, of Manhattan as the suspect and an attempt to locate was sent to neighboring agencies. 

Just after 7:30a.m., police arrested Bobian in Topeka&nbsp; after he crashed his vehicle near the intersection of Interstate 70 and W. 1st Ave. in Topeka.

Bobian is currently being held by the Topeka Police Department and will be extradited to the Riley County Jail.

MANHATTAN —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an apparent homicide in the 400 block of S. 12th Street in Manhattan, according to a social media report from the Riley County Police.

A suspect has been apprehended. This was an isolated incident with no danger to the public.

RCPD: Man arrested for murder of woman in Manhattan

DOUGLAS COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal shooting made an arrest and continue asking the public for help to locate a second suspect.

On Sept. 17, Lawrence Police, with assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 18-year-old Javier Isidro Romero on a requested charge of first-degree murder in the Wednesday death of 21-year-old Christian Willis&nbsp;in the 1500 block of Kentucky Street, according to police department spokesperson Patrick Compton.

Police are also seeking information on the whereabouts of 19-year-old Andrel Darnell Spates, Jr. of Lawrence in connection with the murder.

Spates is 6-foot tall, 165 pounds and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police: Stolen handgun used in killing of 2-year-old Kansas boy

Sheriff releases ID of homicide victim found southwest of Salina

MANHATTAN —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Manhattan man for alleged sex crimes.

On Thursday, police arrested 35-year-old Skyler James Barry on a warrant in connection to sex crimes reported to have occurred in Manhattan in December 2020 and February 2021, according to a media release from the Riley County Police Department.

On May 28, 2021, officers filed a report for rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and criminal sodomy. Officers arrested Barry in connection for aggravated criminal sodomy, and two counts rape and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Barry is confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $250,000.

35-year-old Manhattan man accused of child sex crimes

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating the fatal shooting that left a 16-year-old girl dead have arrested two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

The teens are being held on charges of 1st-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

One of the 17-year-olds was also arrested on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

Just before 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to a disturbance with weapons shots fired at 15th and Kenmar near the Wichita State University State campus, according to Officer Charley Davidson. While officers were in route to the location, 16-year-old Azuri Jones who had been shot arrived at a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The investigation revealed the three boys were in a red Kia along with another 16-year-old girl.&nbsp; The girl got into a disturbance with a boy inside of the vehicle in a parking lot in the 1400 block of North Terrace. During the disturbance, four of her girl friends pulled up in a white Honda. Azuri Jones was in the Honda. The 16-year-old got out of the Kia and got into the Honda. 

The disturbance continued so the driver of the Honda left with Jones and three other girls in the car.

The three boys got back into the red Kia and began chasing the girls in the Honda. In the area of 15th and Kenmar, one of the boys fired multiple shots at the Honda striking Jones who was sitting in the back seat. The driver of the Honda drove directly to the hospital. 

The red Kia was located unoccupied in the area of Vesta and Fountain and was later found to have been reported stolen on Wednesday.

Shortly later, WPD officers observed the three suspects in the area of 17th and Harvard. They were all arrested after a short foot pursuit. Investigators have also recovered a handgun during the investigation.

All three teens are being held on charges of 1st-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

As officers arrived in the area, a vehicle arrived at Wesley Hospital with one victim identified as a 16-year-old girl. She was pronounced dead.

Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle, a red Kia that was reported stolen, according to Weible. The suspects had fled on foot.&nbsp; Police released a description of the suspects to other officers and just before 4p.m. took three individuals into custody near 17th and Hillside.

Investigators learned the individuals, all teenagers, in the two vehicles know each other. They had met behind a shopping center near 13th and Oliver and then started chasing each other, according to Weible.

Police have also recovered a handgun. Weible said it was not located in a vehicle.

Police ID girl who died in shooting near Wichita State campus

 </figure>SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing and have made an arrest.Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting call at a home in the 100 block of North Glenn in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.&nbsp; Upon arrival, officers located 67-year-old Kurt Petersen and determined he had been stabbed multiple times.&nbsp; Petersen was pronounced deceased on the scene.The investigation revealed, Petersen’s caretaker came to the home to check on him and found him lying on the kitchen floor with injuries and called 911.&nbsp; James Shaw was also inside of the residence when the caretaker arrived.&nbsp; Examination of evidence and interviews led to Shaw’s arrest, according to Davidson.This was not a random incident as Shaw and Petersen were known to each other.&nbsp; Additionally, Shaw has had previous felony arrests and convictions and is currently on parole through the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC).&nbsp; He was paroled to Wichita from Wyandotte County.&nbsp;

Police: Kan. man's caretaker found him stabbed to death 

RENO COUNTY&nbsp; — A Kansas felon arrested following a high speed chase in Reno County made a court appearance Wednesday.

Clancy Nelson, 26,&nbsp; was charged with two counts of kidnapping, distribution of meth, distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth, felony flee and elude, flee and elude with reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.&nbsp;

Nelson fled from law enforcement as they tried to make a vehicle stop in Hutchinson. The chase went south on Avenue A to U.S. 50 and then east at speeds near 100 miles per hour. Deputies were able to force Nelson off the road near Burrton.&nbsp;

One of two passengers in the vehicle 32-year-0ld Heather Smith, was also arrested for drug distribution and other warrants. The second passenger, Spencer Mullen, was released at the scene.

According to the sheriff's office, the two passengers wanted out of the vehicle during the chase but Nelson refused thus the kidnapping charges.&nbsp; Nelson is being held on a bond of $221,000.

RENO COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects after a high-speed chase in Reno County.

A suspect later identified as 26-year-old Clancy Nelson fled from law enforcement as they tried to make a vehicle stop in&nbsp; Hutchinson, according to the Reno County Sheriff's Department.

Nelson,&nbsp; drove south on Avenue A to U.S. 50 and then east at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. Deputies were able to force the vehicle off the road near Burrton, where he was taken to the hospital before being taken to jail. 

He faces potential charges of aggravated kidnapping, drug possession and fleeing and eluding. His bond is set at $221,000.&nbsp;

One of two passengers in the vehicle, Heather Smith was also arrested for drug distribution and other warrants. She is jailed on a bond of $28,500. Deputies released a second passenger at the scene.

According to the sheriff's department, the two passengers wanted out of the vehicle during the chase but Nelson refused thus the potential kidnapping charges.&nbsp;

On Tuesday, the Saline County sheriff's office first reported finding a body&nbsp;near the intersection of S. Halstead Road and W. McReynolds Road. In a news release Tuesday, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan noted that the&nbsp;Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Scene Response Team had been called in. On Wednesday, Soldan said that the case was being investigated as a homicide.

On September 17, Manuel Medina-Castro and members of his immediate family arrived at the Saline County Jail.

Manuel Medina-Castro’s family members reported a vehicle, which Manuel had borrowed from a family member, contained a significant amount of what appeared to be blood and a spent shell casing.

Salina Police Department Detectives responded to the 2500 block of Ambassador Drive, Salina, Kansas, and located the vehicle borrowed by Manuel Medina-Castrol. They also observed a substantial amount of what appeared to be blood inside of the family member’s vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and residence. The subsequent search revealed evidence to indicate a violent crime had occurred, a firearm was recovered, and it was believed someone had been grievously injured.

Since September 17, 2021, investigators from the Salina Police Department, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Saline County Sheriff’s Office have conducted a joint investigation to locate and identify a potential victim.

On Tuesday law enforcement developed information that the victim may be located in the 3100 block of West McReynolds Road, in rural Saline County. During the search of that area, a deceased person was located. Law enforcement is waiting on confirmation of the identity of the victim along with the autopsy results. The autopsy has been scheduled. Notification of the next-of-kin is pending.

On September 22, 2021, the Salina Police Department is requesting the an additional charge of Murder; Second Degree for Manuel Medina-Castro.

Suspect accused after man's body found in rural Saline. Co.

SEDGWICK COUNTY —The search continues for the suspect accused in the Sept. 7, nightclub shooting in Wichita that killed one man and injured five women.

During a Sept. 16 news conference, members of the community including Wichita Vice Mayor Brandon Johnson asked the suspect 22-year-old Keshawn Dawson to turn himself in. Wichita Police Captain Jason Stephens said authorities do not know where Dawson is in hiding. Police have received information that suggests he may be in south Wichita, according to Stephens.&nbsp; 

There is a reward of up to $2500 through Crime Stoppers for information in the case that leads to an arrest.&nbsp;

Police say Dawson is armed and dangerous. He was released from prison in December of 2020 after serving time for weapons violations.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Sept. 7, police responded to a shooting call at the Enigma Club, 351 N. Mosley in Wichita.&nbsp; Upon arrival, officers located multiple victims.&nbsp; They were all transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.&nbsp; One victim identified as 34-year-old Preston Spencer of Wichita died from his injuries. Friends and family held his <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-kendra-and-the-spencer-family?fbclid=IwAR1CeDwwCQIfSCoQNv5hK0sgu10mWuhu3Tv8iapl8Qnv-1Q6hJWoNgFeDag">memorial service</a>&nbsp;on Monday.

The other victims, all women ages, 22, Two age 24, 28 and 40, received non life-threatening injuries, according to Stephens. Most of the injuries were to the legs. One had an injury to an arm and her lower back.&nbsp; All of the women are expected to survive.

The investigation revealed a male suspect identified as Dawson got into a disturbance earlier inside the club and was made to leave.&nbsp; Dawson returned a short time later and fired multiple rounds with a handgun through windows into the club from the outside, striking the victims.

Anyone with information on Dawson is asked to call 911.

Wichita Police Captain Jason Stephens said authorities do not know where Dawson is in hiding. Police have received information that suggests he may be in south Wichita, according to Stephens.&nbsp; There is a reward of up to $2500 through Crime Stoppers for information in the case that leads to an arrest.&nbsp;Police say Dawson is armed and dangerous. He was released from prison in December of 2020 after serving time for weapons violations.Just after 12:30 a.m. Sept. 7, police responded to a shooting call at the Enigma Club, 351 N. Mosley in Wichita.&nbsp; Upon arrival, officers located multiple victims.&nbsp; They were all transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.&nbsp; One victim identified as 34-year-old Preston Spencer of Wichita died from his injuries. Friends and family held his <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-kendra-and-the-spencer-family?fbclid=IwAR1CeDwwCQIfSCoQNv5hK0sgu10mWuhu3Tv8iapl8Qnv-1Q6hJWoNgFeDag">memorial service</a>&nbsp;on Monday.The other victims, all women ages, 22, Two age 24, 28 and 40, received non life-threatening injuries, according to Stephens. Most of the injuries were to the legs. One had an injury to an arm and her lower back.&nbsp; All of the women are expected to survive.The investigation revealed a male suspect identified as Dawson got into a disturbance earlier inside the club and was made to leave.&nbsp; Dawson returned a short time later and fired multiple rounds with a handgun through windows into the club from the outside, striking the victims.Anyone with information on Dawson is asked to call 911.---------------

After two weeks, Kansas club shooting suspect still at large

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a shooting near a&nbsp; Wichita high school have&nbsp;arrested a 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boy, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of East Douglas.&nbsp; Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old who both had minor gunshot wounds.&nbsp; They were taken to an area hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital, according to Davidson.

Later, officers were notified of another 15-year-old who had a superficial gunshot wound and received medical treatment on the scene.

The investigation revealed the three suspects pulled into an alley north of Douglas off Spruce in a gray Volkswagen Passat.&nbsp; The suspects exited the vehicle and approached the 15-year-old and 17-year-old victims on Spruce North of Douglas.&nbsp; 

Multiple shots were fired toward the victims, striking them and East High School.&nbsp; The victims then ran across Douglas to a food truck parked on the Southside of Douglas where officers contacted them.&nbsp; The suspects fled in the Passat. Officers later learned another 15-year-old boy was outside the school when he sustained a superficial gunshot wound.&nbsp; The three victims are all students of East High school.

With the help of alert witnesses, officers obtained the vehicle description and tag number of the suspect vehicle.&nbsp; The information was placed into WPD’s Flock License Plate Reader program that helped track the suspects and suspect vehicle to the 1900 block of South Roanoke where the suspects were arrested.&nbsp; Officers located a handgun inside of the vehicle and other evidence related to the shooting.

The East High building was struck twice by gunfire.&nbsp; Both shots ricocheted off windows and did not penetrate the building.&nbsp;

This was not a random incident and is believed to stem from ongoing disputes, according to Davidson.

Police arrest 3 after shooting near Kansas high school

WASHINGTON —A Kansas man was arrested Monday for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, which disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress that was in the process of ascertaining and counting the electoral votes related to the presidential election, according to the United State's Attorney's office.

Michael Eckerman, 37, of Wichita, is charged with federal offenses that include assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; obstruction of an official proceeding; and disorderly conduct in the Capitol building. Eckerman made his initial court appearance yesterday in U.S. Magistrate Court for the District of Kansas.

According to court documents, Eckerman pushed his way to the front of a crowd outside the crypt of the U.S. Capitol building and yelled at officers. He pushed one officer back several feet, making him fall down a small set of stairs and allowing rioters to move farther inside the Capitol. He then made it to Statuary Hall on the second floor and pushed his way through another set of officers, whom he yelled at for several minutes before making his way through a line of Capitol Police officers. Eckerman then went through the House of Representatives side of the Capitol and entered the Rayburn reception room before exiting the Capitol through the upper house doors.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section. Valuable assistance was provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas.

The case is being investigated by the FBI’s Kansas City and Washington Field Offices, as well as the Metropolitan Police Department, with significant assistance provided by the U.S. Capitol Police.

In the eight months since Jan. 6, more than 600 individuals have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including at least 185 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.

Kansas man arrested for assault on officer during Jan. 6 Capitol breach

MORRIS COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a stolen vehicle and have arrested a Manhattan man.

On Sept. 17, police responded to the 10 Block of North Neosho in Council Grove after report of a stolen vehicle, according to a media release.

A Morris County deputy spotted the vehicle in the 10 Block of East Main street where it was parked and unattended. Following an investigation, officers arrested 20-year-old Andrew Franklin of Manhattan on a requested charge of possession of stolen property. Authorities released no additional details.

Police: Manhattan man accused in stolen vehicle theft

SEDGWICK COUNTY —The jury trial of a man charged in a fatal DUI crash that killed a longtime radio host and Wichita State basketball announcer is underway, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

Ray Watkins, 44, is charged with involuntary manslaughter&nbsp;while driving under the influence in the April 29, 2020 crash that killed&nbsp; 70-year-old Don Hall.

 Police said they believe Watkins ran a red light before the crash. He had minor injuries, but Hall died at the scene. Watkins was originally arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

An affidavit released in the case against Watkins said he had a 0.243 blood alcohol on the day of the crash.. The legal limit in Kansas is 0.08.

Hall was a morning show co-host at KEYN Radio in Wichita, and radio station KNSS reported he had worked for more than 45 years in radio in Kansas, including stations KWBW in Hutchinson and Wichita radio stations KAKZ, KKRD and KZSN. He also had been the voice of Shocker men’s basketball since the 1983-84 season

Trial underway in DUI crash that killed longtime Kan. radio host

JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two men on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Just after 11p.m. Sept. 15, a sheriff’s deputy stopped a northbound passenger car on U.S.&nbsp; 75 near 162nd Road for a traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

A Jackson County Sheriff K-9 was deployed during the traffic stop and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

 Deputies located items believed to be drug contraband. The driver, Levi Eugene Eisenbarth, 32, of Soldier, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a requested charge of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He has previous convictions that include indecent liberties with a child and aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, according to the KBI Offender Registry.

 The passenger in the vehicle, Randy Lee Hyatt Jr., 30, of Holton, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a requested charge of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff: Kansas sex offender caught traveling with drugs

SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect after an incident at a south Salina bank on Saturday.

Just after 3p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to Central National Bank in Walmart, 2900 S. Ninth Street in Salina for the report of a man&nbsp; making a threat about a shooting, according to&nbsp;Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester.

Bank employees told police that the man entered the bank and allegedly said there would be a shooting soon. The employees locked themselves in a back room and called police. After reviewing surveillance video, police identified the man as Aldo Steffen, 33, of Salina.

Forrester said officers located Steffan near the north entrance to Walmart and arrested him on the requested charge of aggravated criminal threat.

Police: Man threatened employees at Kansas bank

MANHATTAN—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Junction City man for sex crimes.

On Friday, police arrested&nbsp; Sabian Fyre Adams, 20, of Junction City on a warrant in connection to a rape and sexual battery reported to have occurred in Manhattan in February, according to a media release from the Riley County Police Department.

On February 22, 2021, officers filed a report for rape, attempted rape, aggravated sexual battery and sexual battery. Adams was arrested in connection on those same four charges. Adams is confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $150,000.
