Wesley “Carleen” Martin, 68, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at her home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Carleen was born on July 13, 1953 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of William and Virginia (King) Simpson. She spent her formative years in Marysville, Kansas. On November 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to Monte Martin at Waterville, Kansas. The union was blessed with the birth of one son and one daughter, Brian and Brenda.

The family moved to McPherson, Kansas where they raised their children. After her children were grown, Monte and Carleen moved to Frankfort, Kansas where they made a wonderful home and life to share with their grandchildren.

Carleen was a homemaker/Stay at home Mom most of her life. She dedicated and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.

After her children and grandchildren grew up and left the home she took on new hobbies. Her Favorite pass time was logging on to her computer and playing online community games, during which she met some amazing and lifelong friends that she enjoyed talking to every day.

Throughout her life, Carleen devoted herself to caring for her family and for her friends. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother who would always put her family before herself. We know that she is in peace in heaven, and it is a comfort to her family knowing that she has been reunited with her loving husband and is free of pain and sadness.

Survivors include her son, Brian Martin, her daughter, Brenda Hudlin of Clay Center, KS, sister Linda Roy of Aurora, MO, granddaughter Cortney Poley of Wilber, NE, grandson, Kyle Hudlin of Frankfort, Ks, grandson, Jacob Hudlin of Clay Center, KS, grandson Kalib Martin of Denver, CO and 7 Great Grand Kids. She was Preceeded in death by her loving Husband Monte Martin, brothers, Gary Simpson and Fred Simpson, Sister Jena Novak, Mother Virginia Simpson, Father William Simpson and Grandson Ryder Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a .m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.&nbsp; A graveside service will be follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Cemetery in Beattie, Kansas.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, February 15 at the funeral home.

Linda Kay (Gaskill) Kuntz passed away February 10, 2022 at Abilene Memorial Hospital following a short illness, with family by her side. Linda was born August 6, 1945 to James Maxson and Wilna Marie (Jones) Gaskill. Her earliest years were spent on her grandparents’ (Ethel and Harold Jones) small farm just northwest of town. Later the family moved to an acreage west of Abilene. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1963 and then attended Kansas State University for two years. She was the first woman in the Meat Production Program and was proficient at judging meat and cattle. She was a candidate for Royal Purple Queen, a finalist for K-State Rodeo Queen and a nominee for the Ag Honorary, however at that time she was told it was only for men. She also was a two-time first runner up to the state Angus queen. Later when her children were active in 4-H, she served as community 4-H leader for twenty-four years while serving the Talmage Progressives and the Harmony Hustlers. She served two terms on the Dickinson County Extension Board and was a charter member of the Buckeye Saddle Club. Linda married Gordon Kuntz on October 24, 1965 and together they farmed north of Abilene. They were married for forty-nine years at the time of Gordon’s death in 2015. Linda accepted a position at the Eisenhower Center in May of 1989, working there for thirty-one years before she retired in 2020. While there, she was honored for a living history program that she designed. It included adults and children that portrayed the Eisenhower family during Ike’s early years. They reenacted “life at home” for visitors to the Eisenhower home. All the garments used in the program were period-appropriate and hand sewn by Linda. For her efforts with this program she received a National Archives Award, which was presented to her in Washington, D.C. Linda’s attention to detail was evident in all aspects of her life, whether it was gardening, canning, sewing, cooking, researching or landscaping her beautiful home. Early in her life she adopted the Bible verse found in Colossians 3: 23 that says, “whatever you do, do it as if doing it for the Lord.” She has lived that verse out each day of her life. Genealogy has also been a longtime interest of Linda’s and she has provided extensive family history for her friends and family. She loved and supported the Central Kansas Free Fair and Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo. She painted the advertising signs for the rodeo arena for many years. She was honored to be selected as parade marshal twice. Linda was an enthusiastic supporter of her children and grandchildren whether they were showing livestock, baking goods, building rockets or assisting with the tractor pull. As part of Kuntz Land and Cattle, she took an active role in day-to-day operations. Linda will be especially missed at wheat harvest time. She always brought delicious meals to the field each day, knowing the break and nutritious food was important to the workers. Linda was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Church in Abilene, serving in many administrative positions. She and her family traveled with others from the church three summers to the Navajo reservation in New Mexico, to help build a home for battered women. She is survived by her children Kristen (Schmalzried) and husband Gerald of Raymore Missouri, Dusty (Gina), and Travis (Kristen) of Abilene, and grandchildren Raycelon, Ryder, Rowdy, Laine, Aaron, Riggin, Lorelai, Emmett, Belle and Elsie. She is also survived by sister Lisa Peters of Abilene, and was preceded in death by brother James R. Gaskill. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Church and the funeral service will be Wednesday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m., also at Emmanuel Church. Albert Keith Wheeler, 71 of Abilene passed away February 9, 2022. He was born January 22, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Jim and Joan (Willey) Wheeler. He worked at Thunder Struck in Abilene. 

He is survived by his daughter, Kim Jones (Dale) of Abilene. Three sons; Kelly Wheeler (Kit) of Florida; K.W. Pound of North Carolina and Tommy Wheeler (Emily) of Oklahoma. Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one sister, Patti Joyce (Tom) of Florida and best friends Gloria Wheeler of Oklahoma and Jim and Kathy Murray of Abilene. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Wheeler.

She was born December 20, 1932 on Jackson Mountain, Oklahoma the daughter of Harley and Dora Wilson. Sigrid was a loving mother and enjoyed sewing, quilting and casinos. She loved gardening and nurturing her house plants. She enjoyed traveling and made many trips across the country with her sisters and brother and family. She and Ernie loved nothing better than getting in the car and driving. She loved to bake and cook and feed her family. In 1949 she married Daniel Sells in Oklahoma. They later divorced. She then married Joe Crawford. He passed away in 2006. She married Earnest Hanson on December 20, 2015 in Grants, New Mexico. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her sons Dallas (Joan) Sells of Salinas, California, Duane(Janet) Sells of Manhattan, David Sells of Marble City, Oklahoma, daughter Glynda (Larry) Guthrie of Selmer, Tennessee, brothers Harley (Waneta) Wilson, Jr of Pueblo, Colorado, Raymond Wilson of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Johnnie(Joyce) Wilson of Gans, Oklahoma, sisters Tempie (Roger) Adams of Luther, Oklahoma, Novie (Otis) Conley of Lynchburg, Tennessee, eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her sister Carrie McDonald, brothers Banty Wilson, Wayland Wilson, Jim Wilson, Willard Wilson, infant twin, brother and sister, and granddaughter Carrie Sells. Carol E. Oukrop, 87, a long-time faculty member at Kansas State University and former director of the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications, died Saturday evening, February 5, 2022, at her home in Manhattan, with loved ones at her side. She was born Sept. 6, 1934, in Fargo, N.D., to Vic and Mildred Christensen, Watford City, N.D., and grew up on a cattle ranch in western North Dakota. She earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of North Dakota, and an M.A. in Journalism and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Iowa, from which she was honored as an Alumni Fellow. She worked on newspapers and in public relations in North Dakota and Iowa. Oukrop began her teaching career at Dickinson State College in Dickinson, N.D. She taught at the University of Iowa 1965-69, and joined the faculty at Kansas State University in 1969, where she remained for 33 years. She was the first director of the A. Q. Miller School of Journalism, and served in that capacity for 11 of those 33 years. Oukrop led the school through an arduous reaccreditation process, including spearheading the naming of the newly designation A.Q Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications. In 1983-84 she was a visiting professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She retired from Kansas State University in 2002. In her career Oukrop was best known for her pioneering work on the status of women in journalism and mass communications education. She and colleague Ramona Rush conducted two national studies, 30 years apart, on the status of women in journalism education. Oukrop developed one of the first courses on gender issues in the mass media, and she co-edited Seeking Equity for Women in Journalism and Mass Communication Education: A 30-Year Update. Oukrop’s professional and honorary societies included the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication, the National Federation of Press Women, the Public Relations Society of America, Women in Communication Inc. and various editorial review boards. Local memberships and activities included the Fairy Godmothers board, the Manhattan Library Association board, the Manhattan Arts Center, the Manhattan Area Retired Educators, the Kansas State University Social Club and Rotary International, for which she was one of the first women invite to join. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, and was a Greater Manhattan Community Foundation trustee. On Sept. 23, 1956, she was married to Ray K. Oukrop in Dickinson, N.D. They were divorced in 1963. For 30 years, she loved dancing with her steady partner, Ray Seemater, now deceased, at the American Legion. Carol was a person of simple needs, living by the Ten Commandments. There is no way to accurately measure the healing and teaching she bestowed on all with whom she had contact. She was a wonderful cook, and every holiday she hosted anyone she knew needed fellowship and a home cooked meal, with many becoming regulars. Her life experiences were channeled into an enormous compassion and empathy for anyone who was suffering or in need of comfort. Her emotional intelligence was unmatched. Survivors include two children, Michael C. Oukrop of Austin, Texas, and Patricia J. Talbot, Manhattan, a grandson, Matthew Oukrop and his fiancé Jisel Blasi, Atchison, KS, a sister, JoAnne Banta, and nephew, Joe Banta and family, Anchorage, AK. She was born June 16, 1931, in the Deep Creek Community, southeast of Manhattan, the daughter of Edward and Daisy M. (Amiss) White. She graduated from Keats High School in 1949 and had attended Kansas State University. On February 26, 1950, at the Keats Methodist Church, she was married to Walter Ned Harris. Ned preceded her in death on May 11, 2014. Wanda was a longtime member of the Sedalia Community Church. She was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Manhattan, KS, Rock Away Beach and Forsyth, Missouri. Survivors include two children: Sandra Harris of Manhattan and Richard Harris of Wichita, KS; two brothers: Jerry White of Salina, KS, and Don White of Norwich, KS; five grandchildren: Rachel, Jane, Walter, Margaret and Daniel; and 6 great-grandchildren. Don K. Magnuson, age 83, of Manhattan, died Wednesday February 9, 2022 at the Home of the Flint Hills in St. George. She survives at their home in Manhattan. Don worked for many years with Ag Press in Manhattan as a bindery supervisor. He enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He was a jack of all trade’s kind of guy, he could fix anything, from an electrical problem to a plumbing issue, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going camping, and attending the Kansas State Fair. He and his wife Rosann loved to travel as often as they could. They went everywhere across the country. Don also enjoyed the simple things in the world from mowing the lawn, whoppers malt ball candy and eating hamburgers with ketchup only. His family and especially his grandchildren were so loved by Don. He went to support them in their many events over the years, he tried to make them all and not miss one. In addition to his wife Roseann, he is also survived by his children: Donnie (Kristy) Magnuson, of Wichita, Brian Magnuson, of Manhattan, Michael (Susan) Boller, of Manhattan, and Cheri Blaise, of St. George; also, his grandchildren: Britte Magnuson, Maddie Boller, Hayden Boller, Colton Magnuson, and Mickenzie Blaise; and his great grandson, Kason Blaise; and his brother, Jerry (Janet) Magnuson, of Lawrence. He served in the US Army during the Korean and Vietnam era serving with the Military Police, working with the Riley County Law Enforcement, with Menards, and others. Ron was born in Manhattan, on October 18, 1947, the son of the late Helen Mae (Whitesell) Warnica and John &nbsp;Reich. He was married to Janis &nbsp;Wilson and was later divorced, but remained friends. &nbsp;He graduated from Manhattan High School; Attended college at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. &nbsp;He was a member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and many others. &nbsp;Ron was an outdoorsman and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Carroll L. Davis, Roni Delarosa, Laura (John) Leslie, and Robert Reich, all of Manhattan; &nbsp;a sister, Anette (John) Wright, of Athens, Georgia. three brothers, Terry (Janice) Reich, of Arizona; &nbsp;Tom (Jeanie) Reich, of Oklahoma; &nbsp;Jack Reich, of Abilene, Kansas. &nbsp;He is also survived by 2 half-siblings; 12 grandchildren and, 9 great-grandchildren. &nbsp; Ron is preceded in death by his parents and a &nbsp;great-granddaughter (Serenity Reich). Joe Aaron Sims, Jr. was born in Danville, Illinois on August 13, 1931, to Joe Sims Sr. and Samantha Griggs. He graduated from Danville High School, class of 1948. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on January 8, 1954, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Joe served overseas in the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged in Fort Riley, Kansas in the late 1950s. Joe was a Christian and lifelong member of Second Baptist Church in Junction City, Kansas. Joe loved sports, most of all the Kansas City Chiefs, and could often be found enjoying football or baseball. He also loved jazz. Some of his favorite musicians were John Coltrane, Erroll Garner, and Billie Holiday, just to name a few. Joe was a prankster and loved to hold long conversations. With his quick wit, embellished songs, and sly remarks, he kept everyone around him laughing. He will be most remembered for teaching his grandchildren how to drive, driving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren around, and being a listening ear. The love of Joe’s life was Margaret Stewart Sims and the two shared more than sixty loving years together as friends, then life partners, which led to husband and wife. We will never forget his endearing term of “Honeybun”, for his loving wife. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by a sister Margaret Sims and his wife, Margaret Stewart Sims. He has a host of blended family members and friends from many parts of the world to cherish his memory and continue his legacy of love and laughter. Darrell D. Brensing, age 86, of Manhattan, went home to be with his LORD and Savior on February 9, 2022. Darrell was born September 23, 1935, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Jakie F. and Hulda H. Brensing of Hudson, Kansas. He was a resident of Manhattan since 1969. Darrell received his Associate of Arts Degree from Hutchinson Community College, his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ft. Hays State University, his Master of Arts degree from Pittsburg State University, and his Ph.D. from Kansas State University. He married Patricia L. Ginder of Stafford, Kansas on July 29, 1956. Darrell began his professional career as an Industrial Arts teacher with the Hutchinson Public Schools in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1957. He later started the first Distributive Education Cooperative program in the Hutchinson Public School System and was recognized as the “Father of Vocational Education” in Hutchinson as he started numerous vocational education programs while employed there. In 1969, Darrell was hired by the USD 383 school system as Director of the Manhattan Area Vocational Technical School, now known as Manhattan Area Technical College. He served in this capacity for 7 years and was credited with establishing numerous innovative programs for the school, recognized as one of the outstanding vocational technical schools in the nation. In January 1976, he took a break from the education field and entered the banking business, joining Walt and Alan Bell as Vice President of Citizens State Bank. His love of educating students caused him to return to the education field in 1977, when he joined the American Institute of Baking as director of education when the institute moved from Chicago to Manhattan. He was later promoted to Vice President of Education and enjoyed a 20-year career with AIB. In this capacity he spoke throughout the world on a variety of topics as well as to national and international trade organizations. His ability to design and develop innovative programs earned him the distinction of being recognized in Who’s Who in Kansas, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Outstanding Educators in America and Strathmore’s Who’s Who Registry of Business Leaders. Darrell’s greatest satisfaction was assisting young men and women in gaining employment and seeing them succeed in a rewarding career. To assist them in obtaining gainful employment, he authored the book, “Marketing Yourself, Making the Most of What You’ve Got.” He dedicated this book to his grandchildren in case he wasn’t around to assist them in their job search when they needed his advice and counsel. Darrell was an active member of the Manhattan Rotary Club, serving as president of the club in 1982-1983. He was named Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow in 1991. One of his greatest pleasures in Rotary was to start the Kansas State University Rotaract Club in 1990 and served as their sponsor or co-sponsor until 2016. Darrell was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church where he enjoyed participating with the “Old Geezers” group that performed various types of maintenance for the church properties. Darrell also served as president of the Manhattan Country Club, president of the United Way of Riley County, was a member of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce where he was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 1993, in addition to numerous trade organizations during his professional career. Survivors include his wife Pat of Manhattan; son Doug Brensing and his wife Roxanne of Lenexa, Kansas; daughter Kelly Brensing White and her husband Tim of Manhattan; six grandchildren: Helane (Ben) Downey of Mission, KS; Brandon (Tess) Brensing of Olathe, KS; Tricia (Jeremy) Holliday of St. George; Jamey White of Manhattan; and Daniel (Laura) Bennison of Leawood, KS; eight great-grandchildren: Rylee and Emma Downey, Hudson Brensing, Dean, Jeremiah, and Addy Holliday; Brooke and Ann Bennison; sister-in-law Bev Vance; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Jakie and Hulda Brensing, brother Myron Brensing, and grandchild Tyler White. Darrell began his professional career as an Industrial Arts teacher with the Hutchinson Public Schools in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1957. He later started the first Distributive Education Cooperative program in the Hutchinson Public School System and was recognized as the “Father of Vocational Education” in Hutchinson as he started numerous vocational education programs while employed there. In 1969, Darrell was hired by the USD 383 school system as Director of the Manhattan Area Vocational Technical School, now known as Manhattan Area Technical College. He served in this capacity for 7 years and was credited with establishing numerous innovative programs for the school, recognized as one of the outstanding vocational technical schools in the nation. In January 1976, he took a break from the education field and entered the banking business, joining Walt and Alan Bell as Vice President of Citizens State Bank. His love of educating students caused him to return to the education field in 1977, when he joined the American Institute of Baking as director of education when the institute moved from Chicago to Manhattan. He was later promoted to Vice President of Education and enjoyed a 20-year career with AIB. In this capacity he spoke throughout the world on a variety of topics as well as to national and international trade organizations. His ability to design and develop innovative programs earned him the distinction of being recognized in Who’s Who in Kansas, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Outstanding Educators in America and Strathmore’s Who’s Who Registry of Business Leaders. Darrell’s greatest satisfaction was assisting young men and women in gaining employment and seeing them succeed in a rewarding career. To assist them in obtaining gainful employment, he authored the book, “Marketing Yourself, Making the Most of What You’ve Got.” He dedicated this book to his grandchildren in case he wasn’t around to assist them in their job search when they needed his advice and counsel. Darrell was an active member of the Manhattan Rotary Club, serving as president of the club in 1982-1983. He was named Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow in 1991. One of his greatest pleasures in Rotary was to start the Kansas State University Rotaract Club in 1990 and served as their sponsor or co-sponsor until 2016. Darrell was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church where he enjoyed participating with the “Old Geezers” group that performed various types of maintenance for the church properties. Darrell also served as president of the Manhattan Country Club, president of the United Way of Riley County, was a member of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce where he was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 1993, in addition to numerous trade organizations during his professional career. Survivors include his wife Pat of Manhattan; son Doug Brensing and his wife Roxanne of Lenexa, Kansas; daughter Kelly Brensing White and her husband Tim of Manhattan; six grandchildren: Helane (Ben) Downey of Mission, KS; Brandon (Tess) Brensing of Olathe, KS; Tricia (Jeremy) Holliday of St. George; Jamey White of Manhattan; and Daniel (Laura) Bennison of Leawood, KS; eight great-grandchildren: Rylee and Emma Downey, Hudson Brensing, Dean, Jeremiah, and Addy Holliday; Brooke and Ann Bennison; sister-in-law Bev Vance; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Jakie and Hulda Brensing, brother Myron Brensing, and grandchild Tyler White. Linda (Beaty) King, age 76, passed peacefully in Wichita, Kansas on January 29, 2022. Linda was born in Springfield, Missouri where she lived until 1949 when she and her parents, Dr. Gene and Fran Beaty, moved to Manhattan for her dad to establish his dental practice. Linda graduated from Manhattan High School in 1963. She attended Colorado Women’s College for one year after receiving an honorary scholarship. She returned to Manhattan, completed a year at Kansas State University and became a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Linda married Phil King in 1965. They initially made their home in Hays, Kansas while Phil attended Fort Hays State. Later they moved to Manhattan and then on to the Kansas City area. They had two sons, Aaron and Adam King. Phil and Linda were divorced in1994. Linda had an extensive career as a legal secretary including many years working in the Kansas City area. Some of her favorite pastimes included traveling, visiting historical sites, being in nature, decorating for the holidays and cheering loudly during KSU, Chiefs and Royals games. Linda greatly enjoyed attending her son's activities and sporting events. Later in life she treasured the time she spent babysitting her grandchildren who fondly called her “Gaga”. Linda’s family brought her such joy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. John Andrew "Jack" Syko

Paul Leland Bosch was born to William and Emma (Werries) Bosch on February 25, 1923—his mother’s birthday. His joyfully anticipated heavenly homecoming was February 4, 2022, just three weeks shy of his 99th birthday. Paul was born and raised in a German Lutheran community on the family farm south of Lincoln, Kansas. He spent much of his boyhood tagging along with his father in farming and ranching duties. This led to a lifelong interest in horses, and in his later years he raised and trained several of them. He graduated 8th grade from St. John’s Lutheran parochial school and later was granted a GED from Lincoln High School. The St. Louis Cardinals AAA league baseball team in Houston recruited Paul as a pitcher, but his athletic aspirations were interrupted when America joined World War II. He enlisted in the US Navy and spent most of the war in the Pacific Theater with a mail and intelligence ratings with top secret clearance. He was attached to the AROU 1 (Aviation Repair and Overhaul Unit) in the Admiralty Islands, Guam, Saipan, and he was also loaned out to several ships. He was on board the U.S.S. Missouri for the signing of the peace treaties that effectively ended the war, but all he could see were the tops of the heads of those signing. After the war, he continued to serve the Navy Reserves as a recruiter before returning to Kansas. On July 6, 1947, he married the love of his life, Eugenia (Jean) L. Wick, and together they raised three children in Manhattan, Kansas. While attending Kansas State College, a summer job at a car dealership led to a long career in the auto industry. He had the Oldsmobile/Jeep/GMC dealership in Manhattan at Tri-County Motors and Quality Motor Company. Paul and Jean often traveled to car shows, auctions, and meetings of the General Motor Dealer Council. Later in life, he became involved in other businesses, real estate, ranching, and investing in the local community. At various times in his life he enjoyed, fishing, boating, mule riding, bowling, golfing, and hunting birds, coons, and deer. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Optimist Club, Cloverleaf Square Dance Club and supported the Ashland Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed following Royals baseball, Cardinals Baseball, and K-State basketball. Paul once wrote that he would leave this earth with only joy in his heart, knowing that God sent His only begotten Son to die for his sins that he might have eternal life. He was an avowed follower of Jesus Christ and was active in serving various congregations as an elder, church planter, lay preacher, and other roles. He attended St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Ashland Community Church in Manhattan. Paul was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife (2016), brothers Alvin, Luther, Albert, and sisters Lila Bosch, Waneta McNamara, and Norrena Finuf. He is survived by his children: Paul L. Bosch II (Nancy) of Overland Park, Kansas, Daniel W. Bosch (Jeanette) of Manhattan, and Catherine E. Ira of Manhattan. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, who will serve as casket bearers for his service: Jonathan Bosch, Jeffery Bosch (Melissa), Jacob Bosch (Beth), Jean Lee Nies (Michael), Katherine Bosch, Lynette Bosch, Rachael Flick, Elisabeth Breen (Richard), and Benjamin Ira; and also his nine (soon to be ten) great-grandchildren. Frank Ernest Seufert, 80, of Wamego. Kansas passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

&nbsp;Frank was born on April 17, 1941, in Topeka, Kansas to Carl and Harriette Seufert. He attended Topeka High School and went to college at Washburn University.

Frank worked for Old American Insurance Company for 40 years.

Frank was a member and past potentate of the Arab Temple in Topeka, Kansas where he was active in 1901 Old’s and Footbowlers Units. Additionally, he was a member of the Scottish Rite and the order of the Jesters.

Frank married Sally Andersen on August 11, 1963.

He is survived by his 3 children, Sherri Pittenger, Frank Seufert II (wife Tiffany), and Dalena Bologna (husband Anthony). Frank was also blessed with 7 grandchildren. Dandra Arter (husband Ryan), Andrew Seufert (wife Shelby), Kaylee Robben (husband Jordan), Samuel Seufert, Allison Seufert, William Bologna and Vitori Bologna. He was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren Sophie Robben, Bodee Seufert, and Barrett Robben.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.

Frank Ernest Seufert

Louise N. Daylor, 92, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away on Saturday (February 5, 2022) at the Good Shepherd Homecare &amp; Hospice in Manhattan, Kansas.

Born February 7, 1929 in Jewell, Kansas, Louise was the daughter of Everett and Jean (Nixon) Palmer.&nbsp; She married Earl Clarence Daylor on September 8, 1951 in Beloit, Kansas.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on June 29, 2003.

Louise was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church where she was active with the Ladies Guild, welcome committee, and funeral lunches.&nbsp; Louise was also active in her community. She&nbsp; served as Cub Scout Den Mother, and was a member of the Study Club, Library Board, Hospital Auxiliary, Columbian Theater, Senior Center, Chamber of Commerce, Wamego Country Club, and the Historical Society.

Louise loved sports and was an ardent KU fan and enjoyed tailgating with family and good friends.&nbsp; Friendships were important to Louise; The Tuesday Girls, and her exercise/coffee group at the Senior Center.

Prior to marriage, Louise worked for the “The Capper Publication.”&nbsp; Louise and Earl owned and operated the Home Oil Company/The Last Stop.&nbsp; Once her children were in school, Louise began full time employment at McCall Pattern Company.&nbsp; She then moved on to State employment working at KSU in the School of Veterinary Medicine, Pathology Department.&nbsp; After retirement she obtained her Real Estate License and worked briefly in the Real Estate business.

Survivors include her children; Mike Daylor of Wichita, KS and his children, (OJ Pearl, Matt Daylor); Pamela Fulmer (Todd) of Wamego, KS; Paula Ellis (Gary) of Manhattan, KS and her son, (Tyler Schneider); Steve Daylor (Kim) of Houston, TX and their children, (Ryan Malone, Evan Malone, Victoria Daylor); Bryan Daylor (Trish) of San Ramon, CA&nbsp; and their children, (Jordan Daylor, Blake Daylor); Susan Hatfield (Roy) of Wamego, KS and their children, (Joshua Hatfield, Rebecca Strawser, Dustin Hatfield); Patrick Daylor (Jackie) of Eden Prairie, MN and their children, (Brock Daylor, Grant Daylor); seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Daylor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and a sister, Ruth Pruett.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning (February 12, 2022) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Peterson officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be in the St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.&nbsp; A Rosary service will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. the funeral home.

Daylor, 92, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away on Saturday (February 5, 2022) at the Good Shepherd Homecare &amp; Hospice in Manhattan, Kansas.Born February 7, 1929 in Jewell, Kansas, Louise was the daughter of Everett and Jean (Nixon) Palmer.&nbsp; She married Earl Clarence Daylor on September 8, 1951 in Beloit, Kansas.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on June 29, 2003.Louise was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church where she was active with the Ladies Guild, welcome committee, and funeral lunches.&nbsp; Louise was also active in her community. She&nbsp; served as Cub Scout Den Mother, and was a member of the Study Club, Library Board, Hospital Auxiliary, Columbian Theater, Senior Center, Chamber of Commerce, Wamego Country Club, and the Historical Society.Louise loved sports and was an ardent KU fan and enjoyed tailgating with family and good friends.&nbsp; Friendships were important to Louise; The Tuesday Girls, and her exercise/coffee group at the Senior Center.Prior to marriage, Louise worked for the “The Capper Publication.”&nbsp; Louise and Earl owned and operated the Home Oil Company/The Last Stop.&nbsp; Once her children were in school, Louise began full time employment at McCall Pattern Company.&nbsp; She then moved on to State employment working at KSU in the School of Veterinary Medicine, Pathology Department.&nbsp; After retirement she obtained her Real Estate License and worked briefly in the Real Estate business.Survivors include her children; Mike Daylor of Wichita, KS and his children, (OJ Pearl, Matt Daylor); Pamela Fulmer (Todd) of Wamego, KS; Paula Ellis (Gary) of Manhattan, KS and her son, (Tyler Schneider); Steve Daylor (Kim) of Houston, TX and their children, (Ryan Malone, Evan Malone, Victoria Daylor); Bryan Daylor (Trish) of San Ramon, CA&nbsp; and their children, (Jordan Daylor, Blake Daylor); Susan Hatfield (Roy) of Wamego, KS and their children, (Joshua Hatfield, Rebecca Strawser, Dustin Hatfield); Patrick Daylor (Jackie) of Eden Prairie, MN and their children, (Brock Daylor, Grant Daylor); seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Daylor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and a sister, Ruth Pruett.Funeral services will be held Saturday morning (February 12, 2022) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Peterson officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be in the St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.&nbsp; A Rosary service will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Bernard’s Building Fund, the Wamego Public Library or the Good Shepherd Hospice and left with the Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home, 4370 Salzer Road, Wamego, KS 66547.

Turie M. Mahlman, 72, of Blaine, Kansas, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Monday (January 31, 2022) at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.

Born August 6, 1949 in Cody, Wyoming, Turie was the daughter of Jack and Turie (Loftsgarden) Saxton.&nbsp; She grew up on the TE Ranch, near Cody, WY, and developed her love of horses as a child and kept it until her last day.&nbsp; She also loved fishing, camping and tending to her vegetable garden.&nbsp; Turie enjoyed helping others and had donated over 8 gallons of blood with the American Red Cross.

Turie was employed as a cook for Laramie County School District #1, in Cheyenne, WY for 20 years.&nbsp; She then moved to Kansas and worked at the Onaga Hospital and other schools.&nbsp;

Survivors include her mother, Turie Saxton of Cody, WY; two daughters, Michaela Lavender of Cheyenne, WY and Kasie Mahlman of Wheaton, KS; four grandchildren, Michael Brasel, Shaia Coley, Jade Lovelady, and Nicholas Lavender; a great grandchild, Carson Dixon; a sister, Vicki Morgan of Cody, WY; and 4 Nieces and 1 Nephew.

Turie was preceded in death by her father, Jack; and her Best Friend, Jim Damme.

&nbsp;Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;No services are planned.

Robert A. (Bob) Holvorson, 87, of Junction City died February 5, at Geary Community Hospital after an extended residence at Valley View Senior Life. He was born February 10, 1934, in St Marys, Kansas to Art and Lorene (Uhlrig) Holvorson. Bob graduated from St Marys High School in 1952, attended Kansas State University, and worked at St Marys Radio &amp; TV. In 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served as a radar operator for two years. After leaving the service, Bob attended Emporia State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1961 and a Master of Science degree in 1966. While at Emporia State, he met Mary Lenz of Leon, Kansas, and the two were married on July 18, 1959. Upon receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Bob accepted a teaching position at Centre High School in Lost Springs, Kansas where he taught Industrial Arts. He and Mary made their home in Herington, where in 1962, their daughter Lori was born. In 1964, Bob accepted a teaching position at Junction City High School where he designed and implemented the curriculum and equipment for the new Electronics instructional program. He continued to teach Electronics and Metal Working classes at JCHS until 1994, when he retired from teaching. In 1966, their son, Dale, was born in Junction City. Bob was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and maintained the grounds. He was also very active in the Kiwanis Club of Junction City, South, where he served as president in 1968. Bob was a pilot as well as an avid snow skier and bicyclist. He was active in the National Education Association and volunteered with the Open Door food pantry. He and Mary enjoyed traveling and made frequent trips to Colorado, and visited Europe, Hawaii, and Canada. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 2004. He is survived by his sister, Sherry Holvorson, of St Marys, his daughter Lori Gill of Key West, FL, his son, Dale Holvorson of Norton, and his granddaughters Michelle Holvorson of Wichita and Danyela Holvorson of Wellington. Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 212 N. Eisenhower Dr. in Junction City on Friday, February 11. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 10:00&nbsp; a.m.&nbsp; Gravesite service will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Belvue, KS, followed by a luncheon at Faith Lutheran in Junction City.

Judith Ina Lizakowski, age 76, of Manhattan, Kansas formerly of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died February 6, 2022 at the Frankfort Community Care Home in Frankfort, Kansas. She was born on April 25, 1945 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Dwight and Jean (Craib) Finney. She graduated from high school with the class of 1963. She was married to Dean Lund and later to Ernest Lizakowski. Her husbands both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Gulsuig. Judith is survived by her son Dwight Lund (Jennifer) of Manhattan, Kansas; her grandchildren, Taylor and Alex; and her sisters, Darlene Johnson of Grand Forks, ND and Sharon Bartlette of East Grand Forks, MN. Patrick Yeager, 39 of Junction City, KS entered eternal rest on February 4, 2022 with his wife by his side. He was born on 2 May 1982, in Leimen, Germany, a son of Rita E. Yeager and John D. Whitacre. On March 3, 2005 he married Lottie Marie (Iams) Yeager with whom he shared 16 years of marriage before his passing. He was a combat veteran of the US Army, serving from 2001 to 2021 which during that time also became a naturalized citizen while deployed in Afghanistan in 2009. His service to the US included 1 tour to Iraq, two tours to Afghanistan, one tour to Korea and two tours to Europe, finishing his 2 decade long commitment in Kansas with Fort Riley's 1st Infantry Division, the Big Red One with nearly 7 years of overseas combat tours and assignments. Some of his awards and decorations consist of the Army Commendation Medal (x6), Army Achievement Medal (x5), Overseas Service Ribbon (x6), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/3 stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (w/ 2 stars), Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorist Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (w/ numeral 3), Master Aviation Badge, Master Driver's Badge, Expert Marksmanship Badge, the Presidential Unit Citation and Meritorious Unit Citation (x2). During and after his military service, Patrick attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Hopkinsville Community College, Washburn Technical Institute where he studied Professional Aeronautics andobtained a Certified Production Technician certification. Upon retirement, Patrick owned and operated his company named Huts &amp; Cuts Specialized Property Management, providing handyman and lawncare services to the community. He was always very charitable and always sought to help others. Some of his favorite charities were American Cancer Society, Kansas Masonic Foundation, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a Fellow Craft Mason of Junction City's AF &amp; AM Freemason's Union Lodge #7, an active member of the Double Tap Defensive Shooting Club, IDPA and a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed activities such as biking, collecting movies, playing board games, woodworking, aviation related events, auto mechanics and soccer. Patrick held 5 soccer licenses and certifications and trained hundreds of children and adults in over 10 years volunteering with numerous CYS, YMCA and club facilities along with coaching an Army Battalion and Brigade level soccer team. Patrick coached and was certified in Bavaria, Germany as well as licensed through the Kansas Youth Soccer Association (KSYSA-USSF). He is survived by his wife, Lottie M. (Iams) Yeager; his children, Aidan, Savion and Matson, his parents Rita E. (Rimmler) Yeager and John D. Whitacre, a sister, Christina Whitacre and a large extended family in Germany and the United States. A graveside with military honors will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Junction City Masonic Lodge #7 will provide a service at the graveside. A visitation will take place the evening before on February 15, 2022 from 5-7 p.m.

Jackie was born in Wichita, KS the daughter of William and Dorothy (Bragg) Hinman. Jackie met Ken Burgoon at Kansas State University and they married in May of 1956. She enjoyed the life of a stay at home mom and a military wife until 1981 when Ken retired from the United States Army. She was very active with the First Presbyterian Church and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Pilot Club of Junction City, Officers' Wives Club of Fort Riley, United Way Board, American Red Cross Board, Fort Riley Historical Board, Geary County Historical Society Board, Lady Troopers, Fort Riley Panhellenic Groups, P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Chi Omega Sorority at Kansas State University. Jackie worked fifteen years as the receptionist for the Junction City Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include one daughter, LesLee Blount and her husband Curtis of Junction City, KS; one daughter-in-law, Sue Burgoon of Topeka, KS; four grandchildren, Sara Valenciano and her husband Joey, Zach Burgoon, Mackenzie Lytle and her husband John, and Nick Burgoon; four great-grandchildren, Emma Smith, Jaxon Lytle, Hazel Valenciano and Bo Valenciano.
